What you need

The full chart is 38 stitches wide and 45 high: 1,094 full cross stitches in 9 DMC colors, rated easy. On 14-count Aida, cut a piece at least 9 × 9.5 in (22 × 24 cm), which leaves 3 in spare on every side, and a 6-in hoop holds the whole design. One skein of each color is enough.

Reading this chart

The center of the chart is column 19, row 23, a Topaz Medium Light stitch.

White has the largest connected block, 354 stitches. Delft Blue Medium is the most scattered: 72 stitches in 36 separate spots, 14 of them single stitches.

A row uses about 6.1 separate runs of thread on average; the busiest is row 14, with 17. The chart is a mirror image left to right, so you can check the second half against the first.

Budget roughly 5.5 hours to 11 hours (how we estimate that). New to charts? Read how to read one.

Ideas for using it

  • Christmas tree ornament
  • Christmas card
  • Memorial or remembrance gift

Stitching tips

  • Stitch the halo and the star in a metallic gold, such as DMC E3821, for a little sparkle.
  • Work the gown's grey outline first so the white keeps its shape.
  • Back it with felt and add a ribbon loop to hang it on the tree.

Free for personal use, and you may sell a few pieces you stitched yourself. Details in the terms.
