What is C2C crochet?
Corner-to-corner (C2C) crochet is worked in small square tiles, usually a chain of three and three double crochets. You start with one tile in a corner and work diagonal rows, adding a tile at each end until you reach the width you want, then decreasing to the opposite corner. Because every tile is one square on the graph, C2C is perfect for picture blankets, pillows and wall hangings.
What you get
- A graph with one square per tile, a symbol for each color and thick lines every 10 blocks.
- A color key with the number of tiles in each color, so you can estimate how much yarn you need.
- Written instructions in the PDF: every diagonal row as color runs, like "Row 12 (down, 12 blocks): 3 A, 6 B, 3 A". Row 1 is the tile in the bottom-left corner.
How big will it be?
A C2C tile with worsted yarn and a 5 to 5.5 mm hook usually measures around 1 inch, so a 50 × 60 block graph makes a blanket of roughly 50 × 60 inches. Thinner yarn makes smaller tiles. Crochet one tile with your yarn and hook and measure it before you decide the size.
Tips for a clean graph
- Keep it to 4 to 8 colors. Every color change means a new bobbin of yarn.
- Use "Remove stray single stitches" to avoid lonely tiles of one color.
- Simple pictures with bold shapes, pets with a plain background and lettering all work well.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up and no watermark. Download the graph and the written rows as a PDF.
Is my picture uploaded?
No. The graph is made by your own browser and the picture stays on your device.
Can I use the graph for other crochet stitches?
Yes. The graph works for any square-cell technique, such as tapestry crochet or mosaic blankets; the written rows are specific to C2C.
How do I read the written rows?
Rows run diagonally and change direction each row. Up rows go from the bottom edge toward the left edge, down rows go back. Each run like 3 A means three tiles in color A.
